VETERAN DETECTIVE RETIRES FROM OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Richard Harned finished a long and distinguished career in law enforcement when he recently retired from the Oldham County Police Department.  At the time of his retirement, Harned was a Detective in the Criminal Investigative Division (CID), having served ten of his 38 years in law enforcement with the Oldham County Police Department.

Former Detective Harned served 22 years with the old Louisville Police Department, many of those years in the capacity of a Detective Sergeant working robberies and homicides.

“Richard Harned brought a high level of experience to our department,” stated Oldham County Police Department Chief Michael Griffin, “and our citizens benefited greatly from the resolution of many property crime cases worked by him.  To say that we will miss Richard would be an understatement but he has earned his retirement and we wish him the best.”

Harned resides in Pewee Valley with his wife, Pat, where they will continue to enjoy their large family who also live in the area.
